Description

Reuel Elijah (Born Marlon Bertram) grew up & was raised in Cardiff, South Wales with the Birth Date, 25th Of May , 1996.
In Reuel’s early years, He studied at “The Gate” Performing arts school, where he took part in musicals such as “Cats” , “Westside Story” and more..
For Reuel to get into this at such a young age, he was able to channel professionally, what would come natural to him at home.
Coming from a musical home with Jazz & Pentecostal church influences, music was and still is a big part of Reuel’s foundations, both creatively & spiritually.
With mum being part of a church choir in her younger days & father being organ player, Elijah had more than enough inspiration and drive to get started piecing together his own musical/performing future in his imagination.

“Music is a big part of who I am, a REALLY big part. I love how it makes me feel, move... there’s so much to it, too much comprehend..”

With Jazz, RnB & Reggae being the main genres in the household, Reuel has a major list of artists & sounds he is inspired by:

Starting with: Usher, Destiny’s Child, Sisqo, Beenie Man...

To: Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Chris Brown, Brandy

With the latest being: Eric Bellinger, Kehlani, Ty Dolla Sign (And the list continues!)

During his teenage/high school years, Dance was a prominent investment for Reuel, as he joined successful dance group “Jukebox Juniors” . With booking across the world and tv appearances, he really started to become a popular name in his school & in his city.

It would be that Reuel also in these years, began nurturing his singing & rapping at vocal school “EYK” in Cardiff.

“I loved EYK (Expression of the Young kind) - I got to practice some of my favourite songs, record them, then later on record some original music..”

It was with EYK that Reuel really saw his future in music and as a performer.

Shortly after finishing college in 2012, Reuel invested in his own recording resources and started to get creative with his own sound.
Covers were something Reuel use to variate his ideas on what he heard and with this came a lot of practice for his craft.

“Girls Love Beyoncé was the fast cover I officially released on my YouTube channel that did really well, a lot of people in my hometown took to it as I took them by surprise, that’s important memory in my career”

Following the great response he had, Reuel was then inspired to create more visuals and more music, including more covers, mixtapes & EPs.

This type of work ethic got him into performing more live shows and supporting some of his favourite artists such as..

- Brandy
- Eric Bellinger
- Stormzy
- Kid Ink
- Lotto Boyz
- Chaka Khan
& MORE!.. (See Credits)
