Adeola Dewis

I describe myself as a diaspora artist. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, I have keen interests in ritual, folk and indigenous cultural performances. My practice involves drawing, painting, performance and writing. I am particularly drawn to performances of transformation (as in Carnival and masquerade) as well as the making of sacred spaces. My work usually explores discourse around identity, diaspora and ritual.
