Elliot McKenzie

My artist name is K(E)NZ. I am an 18 year old rapper from Wales. I was born and raised in Swansea, however ethnically I am half Jamaican. I currently record mostly in Cardiff and I try to help fund my career by working part time in a Cafe. I have recently completed and passed my A-Levels so now I’m ready to take my music to the next step.

My work is inspired by both American and British Hip-Hop. I feel like I am unique in the way I write and I aim to become more diverse each day.

Certain artists I take inspiration from are Dave, NLE Choppa and Hopsin. I believe they all help me to switch up my music each time I write and enter the studio. My creative process is simple. I listen to beats and freestyle over them until I find something which sounds good. If I don’t like how I sound on it the first time round, I move on to the next beat.
