Description
Eve Howard
Born and raised in Yorkshire, Eve Howard lived in east London for many years before making her home in west Wales. Eve worked in conflict resolution and mediation and obtained a PhD from the University of Wales, Lampeter. During the lockdown, interests in poetry, photography and art were integrated into an exploration of the Welsh environment. This focused on climate change, diversity, and the natural world.
Eve’s multimedia website Diversitree.wales reflects these issues within its virtual gallery and audio-visual materials, with unique artwork, photos and poetry. Eve’s personal journey incorporates a holistic belief that the worlds of art and nature
belong to the community. Diversitree.wales promotes building a socially inclusive and sustainable green recovery that celebrates and protects the ecosystem of biodiversity in humans and the natural world. Diversitree.wales enables visitors to visit woodlands, beaches, rivers and landscapes virtually. DiversiTree reflects on how diverse ecosystems in Wales correlate with societal concerns. It offers resources for reducing stress, enhancing emotional wellbeing, and promoting mindfulness and good mental health.
Diversitree.wales has been presented as an education resource for mindfulness and environmental issues in schools and community groups. Eve’s artwork has been exhibited in Carmarthen. Eve has delivered interactive presentations to schools, diversity platforms, and organisations working in wellbeing and mental health. Eve
was recognised for Excellence in Creative Media in the 2022 Carmarthenshire Celebration of Culture Awards.
In 2022, Eve Howard will publish The Mindful Dog, which explores the relationship between a woman and her best friend. The book takes us on a journey encompassing poetry, prose, art, and photography, from tales of growing up with cats and a ‘wolf’ dog in Yorkshire to encounters with Charlie and other animals in Wales. Dogs are loyal, dependable, and compassionate creatures, with an innate ability to sense and tune into our emotions. They are patient friends and teachers with an instinctive approach to the power of positive thinking. An oasis of calm in an otherwise turbulent sea of hurried moments. So, trust your dog and its emotional compass. They know what's good for you and can be all that you need them to be.
The Mindful Dog is written under Eve Howard's grandmother's name Eva Greenwood. The book will be available as an e-book and in print. This will be followed up with a book based on Diversitree.wales. Selected poems will be
performed live and on video.
Eve Howard is a creative practitioner, author, and academic with interests in co-production and collaborative work. Her work is founded on ideals of social justice, co-operation and community cohesion. Eve is available for consultancy and
