Sweeney is a Chemical Engineer with a passion for environmental equality and sustainability Sweeney has always wanted to work in this field. She currently works at Resource Futures, supporting clients to achieve their sustainability targets.
In 2019, Sweeney was listed among the ‘Top 100 Most Influential Women in Engineering’ in the UK and Europe by Inclusive Boards in association with the Financial Times.

After graduating from Edinburgh University, Sweeney worked at Lush cosmetics for two years, where she worked on sustainability in the supply chain. She moved to Bristol in 2020 to take up a role with Resource Futures, an independent environmental consultancy. She is a case study for This is Engineering and the Royal Academy of Engineers, to encourage diversity in Engineering.
She has worked as a Black and Green Ambassador.
