Black History Wales engages, educates and empowers individuals, community groups and Wales-wide communities in acknowledging and We recognise and celebrate the contribution of Black people and communities in Wales and their impact on the cultural, social and economic life of the nation. It also allows the wider community to take part, learn and celebrate together to promote understanding and share our global history.

Black History Wales 365: BLACK FUTURES, WELSH FUTURES

This year’s theme, Black Futures, Welsh Futures, highlights the heritage, identity and achievements of Black people in Wales. It invites us to honour the past, celebrate the present and inspire new possibilities for the future. Across the year, schools, organisations, artists and communities will join us in delivering events, workshops, performances and creative activities that bring people together and celebrate the richness of Black culture and experience in Wales.

Black History Wales Theme For 2025-26 Launch

We warmly invite you to join us at St Fagans National Museum of History for the official launch of the 2025–2026 theme. This all-day community celebration will feature live music, dance, diverse food, creative activities and opportunities to connect with people from across Wales.


The event is free and open to all, and is proudly funded by the Arts Council of Wales.
