Mind Your Languages

This invitation-only event explored ‘treasured objects and their global connections’. The event explored languages of African, Caribbean and other non-European countries. 

The event included spoken word and creative writing workshop at Penrhyn Castle, and discovered unexpected language links with old and New Worlds. Participants had a chance to find words from their own countries.

This event was part of the Being Human series ‘Mind Your Languages’ run by Race Council Cymru in partnership with Bangor University. ‘Mind Your Languages’ explored Black Asian and Minority Ethnic languages spoken in North Wales amongst UK families of colonial diaspora.
