‘Next Steps’ Music Development Project by Simon Parton and Race Council Cymru
Race Council Cymru formed a partnership with Simon Parton to support musically talent ethnic minority youth in South Wales.
‘Next Steps’ project aims to strengthen and develop core skillsets of young musicians including composition, songwriting, marketing, promotion, recording and more. The program is specifically aimed at aspiring young musicians who require support with their professional development. The project takes place over 8 month period, starting in February 2020. The skills acquired are lifelong making a difference to the ethnic minority young people in Wales.
The project not only develops the necessary skills to succeed as an artist but also provides a platform to present the polished performances at the Black History Month Wales 2020 and The Swansea Fringe Festival.
Having a chance to perform at a real event exposes new talent to the public, bringing unique creativity into the Welsh music scene.
