Richard is a Director of Nursing Primary, Community and Intermediate Care clinical Board – Cardiff and Vale UHB he has held a number of key nurse leadership positions representing NHS Wales professionally, participating in the UK NMC post registration standards steering group; NMC equality, diversity and inclusion group and Train, Work Live Campaign. Richard also represent the Chief Nursing Officer and NHS Wales on the Nursing Now Cymru specifically leading on Theme 4 “encouraging and increasing diversity in nursing and midwifery to positively influence inclusion of underrepresented groups promoting social and economic developments”.

Richard has also contributed to the first ministers COVID 19 BAME advisory group.

He keen to share his rewarding and at time challenging experiences of the NHS and diversity in nursing workforce. Richard is particularly interested in encouraging and mentoring those interested in entering the nursing and midwifery profession in Wales.
