Samantha Shaw

Samantha trained in Radio Production and Presenting. She volunteered on community radio in
Cardiff for over 20 years with Bay FM, Beats FM and then Radio Cardiff. Samantha also,
produced and presented a weekly Community Radio health show on Radio Cardiff, sponsored
by Butetown, Grangetown and Riverside Communities First Cluster.

• Housing Scrutiny with TPAS, the Welsh Government and Taff Housing Association
• Active Citizenship, creating Social Action Projects with the British Council and Women Making A
Difference
• Event co-ordinator for International Women’s Day at WMC
• Hosted Refugee Week events with John Lenny Jr MBE at WMC
• Community gardening projects
• Riverside Festival coordinator
• Community events / conference speaker / Media / DJ
• Publicity Officer for Taff Housing Tenants Association
• School Governor at Kitchener Primary

Samantha loves to build bridges and use networking to create positive change through innovative
and creative ways. She initiated many productive community links, such as Taff Housing are now
running free courses for parents at Kitchener Primary school delivered by Cardiff Metropolitan
University, co-created and coordinated a local Food Coop and linked tenants of Taff housing to
access free and discounted performances at the Sherman Theatre.

Samantha is a passionate campaigner for social justice and equality and is a woman making a
difference.
